1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III
Austin Healey 3000 Mk III chassis H-BJ8-L/39325. This Phase II version of the Mk III, was originally built on the 6th December 1966 and exported to St. Louis, USA and first registered in early 1967.
The car was returned to the UK in 1990 and subjected to a RHD conversion and bare metal respray. Full engine rebuild completed by Denis Welch motorsport in 1999.
Fully maintained by JME Healeys since 2014 and maintained annually with no expense spared. The car was subjected to a full interior retrim along with sound deadening and heat insulation in May 2016.
This a structurally superb car with excellent panel gaps and fitted with its original outer body work. The engine has excellent oil pressure hot or cold, runs smoothly and does not overheat. The gearbox syncros are excellent and the overdrive engages smoothly. The engine remains on its original points ignition system and 2” SU carburettor setup. The exhaust system has been upgraded to a straight through stainless steel system and a high torque starter motor installed. The wheels are Chrome 72 spoke 5” and fitted with Vredestein tires.
A well looked after dry weather car. The car has mainly been used for local weekend driving and shows. An easy car to drive and with a comfortable ride.
