They say “home is where the heart is” — and for Healeys, that heart has always been in Warwick,
specifically at The Cape Works. It was here in 1945 that Donald Healey first built the Healey Westland Roadster, marking the beginning of a remarkable legacy. Just seven years later, the first prototype of the iconic Healey 100 was created in this very workshop. In 2008, Jon Everard acquired the site, and since then, JME Healeys has proudly continued the tradition — restoring and maintaining Healeys with the same skill, care, and attention to detail they’ve always deserved.
Jonathan Everard, founder of JME Healeys, began his journey in the early 1960s as an apprentice at the Donald Healey Motor Company in Warwick — an opportunity arranged by his father, Harold, who also worked for the company. Jonathan’s deep passion for the marque led him to establish JME Healeys in 1978. For nearly 5
decades, JME has remained committed to the restoration and preservation of these quintessentially British sports cars. Through hands-on experience in restoring, maintaining, and rallying ‘Big Healeys’, Jonathan developed an unmatched depth of knowledge and expertise.
Today, the next generation continues the legacy. For the past 15 years, Jonathan’s sons, Chris and Dan, have led the business, bringing fresh energy and innovation to the workshop. By incorporating new processes and materials, they’ve elevated restoration standards to new heights. Together with a team of 10 highly skilled
craftsmen and technicians, JME offers comprehensive restoration and competition preparation services for all Austin Healeys.
