Jonathan Everard, the founder of J.M.E Healeys, served his apprenticeship with the Donald Healey Motor Company at Warwick in the early 60’s. Jon's father, Harold, worked for the Donald Healey Motor Company in Warwick and arranged for Jonathan’s apprenticeship with the company. Jon’s passion for the car prompted him to establish J.M.E Healeys in 1978 and, for nearly 50 years now, J.M.E has been dedicated to the restoration and preservation of this quintessentially British sports car. Jonathan developed his knowledge of the ‘Big Healeys’ over these four decades whilst restoring, maintaining, and rallying these superb cars.
The company is now run by Jon’s sons, Chris and Dan, who continue to offer a comprehensive restoration and competition preparation service on all Austin Healeys. Having successfully taken over the reins, Chris and Dan have now been running J.M.E for over 15 years. During this time, they have expanded the company’s premises, invested in comprehensively equipped facilities, and built upon their father’s legacy to enhance every aspect of the business. Their dedication, craftsmanship, and deep understanding of the marque have established J.M.E as the world’s leading Austin Healey restorer—renowned internationally for their exceptional attention to detail, authenticity, and commitment to keeping these iconic cars on the road for generations to come.
