Built in September 1954, this Austin Healey 100/4 BN1 was exported to the US before returning to the UK in 1989. The car underwent a full restoration between 1989 – 1993 under 3 different owners to its current colour of Dark British Racing Green. A documented & photographic restoration record is supplied in the history file and is backed up with purchase invoices.
The current owner purchased the vehicle in September 2017 and commissioned a full re-wire and suspension upgrade & overhaul. The car has been upgraded and maintained by JME since January 2018. A 100M conversion kit has been fitted & full engine rebuild & upgrade. A DWR 2 camshaft was installed during the engine rebuild along with 89mm 100M pistons. With the engine out, the original 3-speed gearbox was replaced with the much improved BN2 4-speed gearbox & overdrive. A large core radiator and electric fan are fitted along with a 123 electronic distributor, high torque starter motor, tubular exhaust manifold & side exit exhaust system. A rear shroud mounted filler cap and front spotlights have been added. Fitted with 72 spoke painted green wire wheels, the car remains on its original BN1 brake drum setup.
The underside of the car is structurally excellent and is matching body colour of Dark British Racing Green.
This car is a fantastic fast road example and a pleasure to drive. The current owner used the car for the Canossa and Bassano road rally events in Italy and extended road journey to Greece.
Supplied with UK V5C registration document, FIVA Papers, Heritage certificate, and a detailed folder of previous invoices and past history.
Complete with Black hood & tonneau cover, sidescreens, 2 Sets of Keys, Hammer and Jack.
